The original play_music_theory is a visual instrument by Tala Rae Schlossberg. Its website is playmusictheory.net. You are reading PlayMusicTheory.top, a separate, independently built playground. We are not the creator, a mirror, an official download site or an affiliated service.

What the original instrument does

Draw a mark and hear it become music. The original web page currently lists key, tempo and WAV/MIDI export controls in its instrument upgrade. Check the creator’s live interface for current access and pricing; features can change.

A useful first drawing

Start small: make a low line, then a short rising curve. Play it before adding anything else. In this playground, horizontal position controls timing and vertical position controls pitch. Change one thing at a time so you can hear what it does.

Daydream demonstrates overlapping melodies. Stepping stones makes individual notes easier to follow. These examples use our own model, not the original app’s engine.

Save the right kind of file

An audio recording, editable music notes, artwork and a reusable drawing project are different things. Before closing a session, decide whether you want to listen again or continue editing. Our save and export guide explains each option and keeps the original product separate from this site.

What we checked

We reviewed the creator’s public web page and App Store listing on September 16, 2026. We did not purchase the original upgrade or independently test its native app. Instructions for our playground describe our own implementation; they are not a claim of identical behavior.
