Troubleshooting

Drawing music but hearing nothing? Start here.

Fix silent playback in this drawing-to-music playground: user interaction, volume, muted sounds, empty canvases, hidden tabs and browser sound permissions.

First, press Play

This playground never plays audio automatically. Tap or click Play drawing to create or resume the audio session. Browsers often block audio before a user interacts with a page. See the Browser audio and autoplay guide ↗ for the general rule.

Check the drawing, then the volume

Make sure there is at least one mark and its sound is not muted. Each sound has a separate mute control. Raise the editor’s volume slider, then check your device’s media volume and audio output. Bluetooth headphones can receive the sound even when you expect the phone speaker.

Load Stepping stones as a simple test. It contains isolated notes that are easy to hear. Download your current project before replacing it.

Return to the tab and try again

Playback stops when this page becomes hidden, so a background tab does not keep making sound or drift out of sync. Return to the page and press Play again. Check whether your browser has muted the tab or denied this site permission to play sound.

Try a different browser context

Some in-app browsers restrict audio or downloads. Open the page in a current full browser. A reload can reset a suspended audio session, but download the project first when possible. A successful WAV download is a useful comparison: open it in a separate audio player.

If your browser cannot render WAV, the panel reports that limitation rather than generating a fake file. Editable JSON and MIDI remain separate backup options.

This is not support for a different app

These steps explain this independent playground and general browser audio behavior. For errors in Tala Rae Schlossberg’s native app or paid web instrument, use the support and version information linked from the Official App Store listing ↗.

Try one little drawing.
